I've been making stitching clams on and off now for seven years. Over this time my process has evolved to accommodate new features and to streamline the construction process. Despite this, I've never done a great job documenting, even for myself, my build process. This tends to result in some re-work during each build as I re-solution old problems.


With all of that in mind, one of my goals with these posts will be to document, in pieces, my full build process. My hope is this will benefit both (1) myself in that I will have this process documented for future reference, and (2) others who may want to try there hand in building such a clam. Nothing in here is rocket science - I made my earliest clams with only a few tools. However, it does take good attention to detail to create something with a good fit and finish. I'll be breaking the build down into bite sized steps and as I get through documenting each step I'll add to the below leadsheet
